Goal Update #5

on June 3, 2013

It’s time to update on my goals for the year once again.

Here’s how I did in January,  FebruaryMarch, and April.

NaDell’s Goals for 2013
1. Read books and magazines that inspire me spiritually as well as intellectually.
I have not even really cracked the May Ensign Conference Issue open yet, but I am caught up on the rest of the church magazines.
I read a few fun books this month, including “Summerset Abbey” which I completely recommend without any worries about language or anything else.
For our mother daughter summer book we started “Princess Academy” by Shannon Hale.  Olivia and Elizabeth are both reading with me this time.

Andy and I are in the middle the letter P section in our reading of the Bible Dictionary one page a night.  We are learning a lot. We are also trying to learn the pioneer stories that were given to us for the trek in a few weeks.

2. More family exercise.

We are still walking, triking, scootering, strollering, and biking more around here, along with gardening, cleaning, and mowing.  I completed the Glow Run 5K in under 40 minutes with two friends.  It was a lot of fun.  At this point, I’m working on breaking in my hiking boots well, so I’m taking a little break from running.
I lost two more pounds, bringing me to 42 pounds lost.  13 to go to get to my goal!

3. TEMPLE with Andy monthly.
Andy and I were able to go to the Portland Temple in May with some friends. We went to a regular session and their sealing.  It was wonderful.  We celebrated our anniversary a little early there because it’s where we got married 12 years ago (nearly).

4. Catch up my family scrapbooks.

I kind of forget about this goal…

So it’s the same as last month and the month before:

In January I scanned old pre-digital scrapbooks.

February’s goal was to organize the pictures and papers (invites, cards, etc.) that I already had ready to go. I also renamed the picture files on the computer from the end of 2012 so that when I have them printed, they will have the file name (date) printed on the back (Winkflash does that.)  I still need to work on the pictures from summer 2012 and then I’ll be about ready to print them all. I still need to rename the pictures from last summer and hopefully get started on the scrapbooks from the summer of 2011.

In June we have plenty planned and I hope to lose a little more weight continuing tracking calories and going on the pioneer trek.  I will feel much better when I can just sustain the weight loss I think.
