Hikin’, kickin’, and posin’…

HIKIN’
This week was full of fun! We had a super fun day on Wednesday. It was Preschool for Elizabeth and in the morning, home for lunch and Olivia’s nap, meanwhile I finally got a chance to make cinnamon rolls that I’ve been looking at the recipe of for weeks (maybe months), then we had Activity Days for the 10 and 11 year old girls in our ward. We met at a park and hiked up this incredibly steep, sandy hill. Olivia went home with one of the girls’ mom to play with her little friend. Thanks!! Elizabeth climbed with the leader’s son, Wyatt, and help from a few girls. I carried Vincent in a little carrier for about 10 minutes (until I was wiped out) and then gave him to the leader. Boy am I in bad shape. I obviously don’t exercise enough (hardly at all). You can see how steep the hill is in the pictures. At the top you can’t even see the path! I did make it though.

KICKIN’

Vincent started kicking all the time now (at least, now I notice anyway). He was rocking his carseat at a meeting I went to on Thursday (right before a major blowout) and then Friday was kicking in his vibrator bouncy seat. He is so happy most of the time. He’s much bigger than when we brought him home from the hospital almost three months ago. See picture:

POSIN’
Elizabeth and Olivia always want their picture taken when I take Vincent’s, so here they are posing for me. They finally both looked at the same time. They are so bad at looking! I say look at me, and get faces toward me and eyes anywhere else! Any tips? Olivia brought their outfits out on Friday morning. She decided it was time for “BooBoo” (Elizabeth) to get dressed. They are sort of the same style. Both skirts, tights, and purple shirt and black dress shoes. They like to copy each other. Sorry about Olivia’s dirty shirt. She changed right after the picture.

Must love dogs?

Olivia has been terrified of dogs for quite a long time (her whole 2 1/2 years) and made a huge breakthrough this week. She pet a big lab therapy dog in the library on Thursday. He was asleep, so I guess she wasn’t as afraid…. Then today on the way home from the school, she pet another big dog that the other kids were petting. This dog was laying on her back. She pet more than once too. She usually climbs up whoever is close to her if she spots a dog. Yeah!! She still didn’t like “Uncle Scooter” on Sunday though, but didn’t freak out either. Maybe she’s just scared of little doggies? Does that make sense to anyone? I’ll post a picture on here from the owner of the therapy dog later.

Sunday Dinners-"I love you"

Well, as we normally do, we went to Andy’s parent’s in Kennewick for Sunday dinner. Elizabeth is so funny. She always comes up with great things. Like, “Brad, I love you. You’re my favorite uncle.” Then, with a little coaxing from GM Shirley, “David, you’re my other favorite uncle.” I think the novelty hasn’t worn off of Brad yet…only two months of unclehood. She and Olivia played with Torrie’s old tiny Polly Pocket houses and dolls. Vincent just kind of sleeps through everything and wakes up to eat, be changed, and smile and laugh at everyone. (There is some crying in there too. Usually in between sides of feeding, “half-time” as my brother, Brant, calls it.) Saturday, we had my parent’s over for dinner before they and we went to separate receptions. Boy is it wedding time. I’ve got to get going on all my wedding cross-stitches. Good thing it takes me less than a week of down time to do it. Elizabeth had a good talk with GP Paul, my dad, about prayers at night. He asked her if she says her prayers and asked her all about what she prays about. She said that she prays for her best friend, Keone, across the street, who she loves. My dad’s a little worried about that since she’s only 5! He asked her who she prays to and had a really good talk about it. Thanks, Dad! Today is just one of the only mornings for weeks that we aren’t busy, so we are just hanging out at home…well, that’s the plan for 5 more minutes (until 11am anyway), then we are going to walk to Keone’s school with his mom and pick him up. We have to practice walking there and back because we’re planning on walking Elizabeth to and from afternoon Kindergarten this fall on every nice day. I hope Olivia can walk 2 miles a day, if not, we have a wagon. Elizabeth gets off easy because she only will have to do 1 mile. I think 2 miles will be great for me if Olivia can go fast enough to make it exercise :) Here’s a picture of Elizabeth with Keone and Olivia at the Children’s Museum in Pasco a few weeks ago. Elizabeth loves Keone!

I guess that I have to post something here….

I think that to have others leave comments, I have to post and then it works? I have been just adding pictures. That’s pretty much the whole story, since we don’t go on fancy vacations and do super different and cool things. Just taking care of the kids and doing things together as a family. We just need to teach them what “be quiet” means. They don’t seem to understand. That and “stop whining.” Any ideas?
